Hypothyroidism may be one of the biggest causes of infertility problems. Many women who are struggling get their thyroids tested but if all your Dr. looks at is your TSH he/she may be missing the problem. According to Dr. Mario Skugor of the Cleveland Clinic even a TSH that falls within normal range may still be high for that person. He does further investigating by testing T3 and T4 levels as well as testing thyroid antibodies.

The biggest issue with hypothyroidism is that it’s such a sensitive organ. The best way to get it functioning properly again is to avoid toxins as much as possible. Stop using harsh cleaning chemicals in your home and get some air purifying plants. There are so many beautiful plants that will brighten up your home, lift your spirits, and help to get dangerous toxins out of your air.

The second step is raw food. Incorporating more raw food into your diet helps to calm your immune system down so it stops attacking your body. Also, be very conscious when purchasing meats. Be certain the animal was not given hormones and I always recommend 100% grass fed, grass finished. The animals should never be fed genetically modified corn or soy. An animal who is allowed to eat their natural diet is a much healthier animal. Consuming these animal products will not interfere with your body’s natural processes.

So, try to keep fruits and vegetables raw as much as possible (there are some that are best lightly cooked such as cruciferous leafy greens and spinach) but most are better consumed raw. As always, increase your vegetable consumption, go for the highest quality meat, and try to keep the air in your home free of chemicals and harsh fumes.
